Chemistry test and sleep?!

Question: I have a huge chemistry test tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
I plan on getting up at five to study a bit more.
It's midnight now.
Any suggestions on ways I can get myself energized enough to reason well and score high on this test, besides studying more?
How much sleep should I try to get, is there anything I should eat, what else can I do, etc?

From experience, to be honest with you... if you don't know it by now, just review the things you do know and go to bed. Don't waste your energy trying to cram and learn things you haven't yet especially the morning of. It will only stress you out more and make you forget things you already know.

However, if you do decide to wake up and study, take a shower and eat some breakfast.

If you didn't know, carbs make you sleepy but protein keeps you alert. So try to incorporate some protein in your breakfast! Also, drink water :)

Good luck on the test.

drink alot of energy drinks (red bull) then get no sleep and study through the night!

For me, four or five hours would be plenty of sleep. Figure out what the least amount of sleep is that will let you function well tomorrow, and spend the rest of the time studying. I would personally study until about 2, and then sleep from 2 to 6:30, but if you prefer waking up early to study, then go to bed at 12 or 12:30 and wake up at 5.

Sometimes if I'm too tired to get anything done, a shower will help wake me up.

In the morning as you study and on your way to the test listen to Mozart. Studies have shown that people who listen to Mozart as they study in the hours before a test do better on the test. The music of Mozart seems to stimulate the brain in some way.

if you don't know it my now-----for get it. go to bed now and get your sleep. get up in AM and eat breakfast and take your test.

Five hours sleep is not enough to optimize your thinking and alertness, and the extra sleep (to get at least 6.5 hrs.) would probably do more to help you recall what you've already learned than the extra study time in the morning.

Coffee is my go-to for getting energized when I get up. If you don't like coffee, a large Diet cola would do about the same thing.

Protein would be best for your breakfast tomorrow--a couple of eggs, some cottage cheese, some sausage, plus a little carbo (English muffin?) should set you right. Protein is good because it digests slowly, and will carry you through to the end of the test without getting hungry.

Good luck!
