What do you really die of when you jump from a high bridge?!
Question: I saw the documentary "The Bridge" where people jump from the golden gate bridge in an attempt suicide...what kills you the impact or drowning...in one case a man actually survived to swim to safety...

when you hit the water its like dropping onto a slab of concrete because of the height.I also watched that documenatry.I would have to say most die from internal injuries and boken necks.

Can't say I've really thought about it a great deal, but I guess the impact of the water knocks you unconscious and then you drown.
i suppose the impact of hitting the water.
although i wouldnt ever do that because i think that if you jumped straight down, as in legs and arms all close to the body, you would just go straight down and be fine, and i can swim, so id just swim.....
but if you really wanted to die, youd probably have to some crazy belly smacker type thing so that your body would feel the impact. and not know how to swim, so incase the impact didnt kill you, lack of air would.
