Answers: i have been having bad migraines for a few days now does any one else ever have these about twice aday and does any one no why

I had my first full blown migraine when i was in my early twenties. blind spots, facial numbness, numbness in arm and neck followed by a headache so bad i can't describe it. Scared the heck out of me.
they tested me and took me off birth control pills
they put me on medication
i did not like the way the meds made me zombie out
i did research and have a method that has been very good for me and i recommend it to everyone with migraines
at the first sign of migraine (I get a lot of visual distortion or light sensitivity)-
1)reduce activity
2)drink a Coca-Cola {the original one with sugar and caffeine}
3)eat a Hershey's dark chocolate candy bar
4)take one aspirin
5)take one Tylenol
6)move to a location with less light
this will stop a migraine in its tracks for me usually within 15 minutes.
another tip...........if you have a lot of visual distortion get a blue light bulb, if you are in a room with a blue light it will filter the distortion out and you can see clearly, it's great.
learn your migraine triggers everyone has different ones.
hormones, dehydration, allergies, illness, stress are the most common.

I used to get migraines on a daily basis. I then started to go see my chiropractor regularly. I am happy to say that now I rarely get headaches! You should try it out. . . it wont hurt!

Your migraines are caused by evil spirits, the solution to your problem is to drill a hole through your skull with a power drill.

If that doesn't work try "Advil liquid gels"

i suffer from migraines.. and my doc prescribed a drug called Zolmitrpitan which is excellent and stops the migraine developing..
Things you can do to help yourself...... Migraines develop due to the lack of Serotonin on the brain.... foods you can eat to increase this are Turkey, Walnuts, Pineapple and Bananas....

r u in front of the comp too much? mite need ur eyes tested (could be eye strain)
Are you dehydrated? keep water with you
could you have changed your diet?
make sure theres no fumes or anything coming from your heating system to be safe
aparently ingrowing toenails can also cause migraines

you can get 4head and wipe it across your forehead when it startd
if all else fails head to the docs, hell be able to do more

I used to get them once a week, but now it might be once a month. I've used Excedrin for the migraines and it is the only thing that seems to work. As far as the cause of migraines, I read somewhere that a switch in polarity within the brain actually causes them. I don't know how true that is, but it did mention a few symptoms that are supposed to be signs that one is coming on: Changes in mood quickly(for me I get depressed suddenly), irritation, sudden tiring, and a feeling as if your thoughts or reactions are moving slowly. These symptoms fit me, but that's all I've got.

yeah they are really bad my sister have them and really swear kinda ones. they are hereditary.u might not know it cause ur parents might not have it but some one in your family definitly would have got it.they are mostly triggered by stress , tension and most probably eating habits.look for things that trigger the pain.for instance my sister get swear attacks due to either axcessive chocolates or cheese. if u get an attack of migraine take an asprin and lie down in a dark room as light is irritating in this case. or take a sweet tasting liquid as a juice or a drink it supresses the effects.but there r no exact remedies of migraine you just have to take care of your diet and things that cause the pains at first place.

Oh yes I get them often - not twice a day but all day and all night and sometimes into the next day. I tend to wonder if your having migraines, as they don't come about twice a day! But none the less they are no fun to have either.

I do use Advil for Migraines and it does work - now I get them and they are gone thanks to the Advil. I also try to have a strong cup of coffee, and a very very hot shower with the water falling just on the top of my back, right at the base of my neck. My parents get Migraines and they were told to do this and it works for them.

I know that where I live we get Chinooks (where the temperature can change from very cold to very warm in a few hours) and that effects me. Cheese, chocolate, wine, beer are powerful headache causers. Stress, lack of sleep, computer work, poor light, strong smells and stronger glasses also can cause headaches.

I would write down what time of the day it starts, when it stops, what you take to get rid of the pain. Also make note of what you eat before you had a headache or what you were doing, you may see a pattern start to emerge. Then you can cut out doing or eating what it was and see if that effect's your migraines!

But really an apt to see your doctor (and eye doctor) would be highly suggested too - there may be other factors that they can look in to or rule out as well. Good luck

You should see your doctor. You don't mention your age, or what you are doing when the headaches begin. I suffer migraines. There are many triggers and usually different for every person who has them. Is it during your menstrual cycle? Are you eating a lot of processed food (meat)? When was the last time you had your eyes checked? The only time I ever had a headache for days running was when I needed new glasses. Also go on line and research migraines. There is a wealth of information there on the subject. I hope this helps.

take 2 excedrin migrain tablets. you can get it over the counter. if it doesn't work, go and see your physician. you might need to see a neurologist.

Magnesium might help.

You can find further information in a search for migraines + magnesium.

Migraines usually have causes like stress, exposure to cigarette smoke, and birth control pills. There are also specific food triggers like cheese, chocolate, and alcohol.

The lights are making your liver excessive(liver is related to eyes).

Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.

There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.

Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.

Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.

Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.

Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.

It may disappear naturally too.
