Back pain...I have a sharp pain when looking left....?!


Question: I have a sharp pain in my back/lower shoulder when looking left...I did some reasearch before and found what it was but I can't remember what it was...It was a really small muscles that connects to your neck...thats why It hurts when I look to the left ...any help would be deeply appreciated...

Hi Roy

It can actually be a few things - the Levator Scapulae muscle attaches to the top of your shoulder blade and up into the top of your neck. So if tight when you turn your head it can cause pain.

The most likely cause though is your ribs, where they attach to the spine they are only a small joint that can become aggravated easily. They pinch when you turn your neck and the muscles between your ribs make it worse also.

Add in a few spinal joints that are not working correctly and pain occcurs.
