Possible ruptured ear drum?!

Question: I think my ear drum has ruptured. There is pressure on the inside of my ear, it also feels like there could be like water in it (but I dont see how because I havent gone swimming in months). And because of all this I cannot hear as well from the ear that has the problem. Could this be a ruptured ear drum? I'm am scared because I am not sure what is going on. My mother said it could be a wax builup but i havent had a cold in forever and I usually keep my ear fairly clean. I am going to see my doctor tomorrow too. Some just give me some insight please. Im kinda freaked out.

a ruptured ear drum is mighty painful.
it sounds like a conductive hearing loss, differential diagnoses are
a) wax build up
b) ASOM - acute suppurative otitis media
c) Eustacian tube block due to sinusitis
d) pharyngitis with tubal congestion.

take it easy. all the best. get well soon.

You can even get trapped water in your ears without even going to swimming even taking daily shower can make water going inside your ears so might be it is because of that as i generally get water in my ears even when i bath. The best thing to do is to dry your ears, since you are saying you feel pressure inside your ears i would say do not use ear Bud because you might unknowingly apply pressure which might be harmful. You can use something like swim ears ...you can get that over the counter it will help you remove the excess water trapped in your ears. i would best suggest go and see doctor as it is best solution to be on the safe side and not take any risk at all ears are delicate bodies should not mes up with them.

And one more home remedy is to use garlic oil and just warm the drops a bit and with cotton, put few drops in your ears and lie down for few minutes....according to my experience it really helps.

Good Luck !

A ruptured ear drum would relieve the pressure within the ear. It would not add to it. If you have no drainage from your ear you have not ruptured the membrane. Most likely it is wax build up or an issue with your eustacian tubes.

If the eardrum ruptures, it is a severe, piercing pain. This happened to me, and I was unable to even stand up or walk, my balance was thrown completely off. You may also "taste" or feel fluid in your throat, as a perforated eardrum opens into the other ear, nose, throat caveties. I hope your eardrum hasn't ruptured or perforated! Its AWFUL, so painful!! At any rate, definitely see the doctor! Good luck!
