Knee cap sliding to the side? Recent Lateral Release?!

Question: In June I had a Lateral Release after 5 years of knee pain from IT Band Syndrome, Chondromalacia, and Patellar Malalignment. The Lateral Release and some clean up of the cartilage and bone areas seemed to have releaved a lot of pain compared to what it was. Last week, I was doing something and my knee cap slid over to the inside of my knee and then popped back. It hurt and felt really weird. It happened again 2 days later when I was in the bath. My knee pushed up against the side of the tub and it slid way over and then popped back. I can feel it trying to do it with any kind of slight pressure a lot more now that I am aware of it.
Anyone know if its related to the surgery/conditions? Or is this something new? BTW, someone at work already made the funny comment of "if it hurts, don't do it". lol

sounds like your dislocating the patella without pain. thats interesting. go to your doctor and tell them.
