Does the nicotine chewing gum help? I need to quit smoking.?!

Question: I am a chain smoker and want to quit but i am unable to so.
I have made this new year resolution many times but it does not last till 2-3 days/
Does the nicotine gum available in medical stores help or I will get addicted to that too?

oh my god, I just quit last week. Nicotine gum will work at first but you are still putting it into your system, meaning that you will still be craving it may it not be by inhaling hopefully. As hard as it sounds, just go for regular gum, it will be hard at first but better in the long run.

since you are a chain smoker - the habit will be the hardest part to break. My mom finally managed to make it stick this time - its been a year. There is a prescription pill - zyban? that your doctor can prescribe for you. It blocks the nicotine addiction in your brain, and if you do smoke, it is absolutely repulsive. Also, fresh oranges, and orange juice, vitamin c helps to flush the nicotine out of your system. For the physical craving part, straws, toothpicks, gum, whatever it takes. My dad used sunflower seeds (already shelled) and would just chew on it one at a time until there was nothing left.
Good luck - I know how hard it is. I quit last January. Cold Turkey.

no i dont think so but i do know that the patch works better

If you have insurance or can afford it, try Chantix. It has done wonders for me and takes much less work than nicotine substitutes.

They really won't cost much less in the end anyways.

Zyban doesn't block receptors in the brain, but Chantix does.

Zyban is just an antidepressent that they found another use for.
