You are not sitting in an ergonomic position. This means that the blood supply to the left hand is restricted.
From the way you describe your position you are having the first signs of the total damage that you could do to yourself sitting like this. If you carry on this way long term, you could cause nerve damage due to lack of blood supplying the finger.
Sitting is not a natural position for humans. Your chair should be high enough that both feet are flat on the floor, and the seat should be tilted slightly downward. Your desk should be high enough that your arms when typing are at a 90 degree angle.
You should look away from your screen at regular intervals, if only for a few seconds as this helps to reduce eye strain.
If you type one handed, then get some worry beads or a stress ball for the other so that you don't feel tempted to lean forwards and rest your head on your hand.

yes its probably because the way you are leaning on your hand you are just restrictiong the blood flow to your little finger, dont worry just move your positioning a little more and rub your finger when it goes numb, you should get some sensations back in it :)

It could be an alien implant, the little buggers do this while we sleep and its no good having an x-ray these things don't show up on x-ray

i had the same problem...started off with my tip of little finger then the whole of me little finger ,then half of my ring finger...my hand became clumsey and arm became painful..as time went on it became worse...ive just had a operation for an ulna nerve decompression..i use to sit with my arm bent and hand under my chin ..the ulna nerve runs from under your funny bone and works little and ring finger..when arm is bent..the nerve gets restricted...

Does it only go numb when you're on the computer ?
If that's the case..... then I don't think there's a problem.

If it's numb other times, you might want to see a doctor because that ould be the beginning of something......

But if it's just when you're on the comuter I don't think it's too big of a deal.
