Question about the removal of a rod etc.?!

Question: Okay so I broke my femur in april and I am having my third surgery to have a rod removed and a screw that is like 3 inches above my knee. They said something about removing the rod through my stomach. Does anyone know the process of the surgery and recovery? I'm nervous and am very curious. Thank you.

I'm positive that you heard the doctor or nurse incorrectly. I have been in surgery for more than 16 years and have never heard anything like that. My guess is they used the word scar or stoma and you thought they said stomach. The recovery time will be very quick and you should be up and about in 3-7 days with little or no pain.

I had rods in both legs years ago they remove them through the same place they put then in, dont see how your stomach has anything to do with your legs. you better ask lots of questions

The IM nail gets removed from the hip. At least my sons was, when his was removed.
