Flexeril is a muscle relaxant used to relieve the pain and stiffness of muscle spasms and discomfort due to strain and sprain and it is Usually it is prescribed as 10mg every six hours as needed to relieve low back pain associated with muscle spasm, or it can also be prescribed like 10mg at night as needed to help with difficulty sleeping. It can be very effective. Side efffects drowsiness, dry mouth and dizziness.
When I took this med- it was the first med they every gave me and i was OUT- watch for extreme sedation - (in my case -found out i was allergic- and i ended up with what i thought was a cold, but it was called pharyngitis and a URI so pay attn to the way you feel

Just know this does have a sedating effect so plan around it till you get used to it. By any means DO not overdose on it- and DO NOT just quit!
I take it every day as part of a pain management program. It may make you a little sleepy for the first few days but it does help
It's been prescribed to me pretty often over the years because of my herniated disk in my back. However, I don't like it. It causes me severe drowsiness, irritability, and insomnia. I never would take it when it was prescribed for these reasons . Also flexeril doesn't go very well with alot of medications out there. Not one of the best drugs out there. Good luck with it! There are better muscle relaxants available.

ask your doc about 20mg oxycodone XR. It will help the pain and not make you fall asleep.
