Knee pain...?!

Question: I live a pretty active lifestyle...
But I've had to stick with low impact sports like cycling&& swimming because of my knees.
I spoke to my doctor about it&& she says that some women's hips are set differently&& therefore it puts a lot of pressure on the knees... But she didn't suggest anything I could do to help with it.
I can't keep my legs at an angle for more than 2 or 3 minutes without a decent amount of pain upon standing up.
&&When I run, every step is like my knee caps are being ripped off.
Is there anything I can do to help this?
I just don't wanna have to take massive amounts of pain killers just to go for a run...
I'm only 16... Soooooo not ready to be complaining about 'my poor aching knees'.
Makes me feel old.

Go see an orthopedic. You might even need surgery. I had lots of knee problems and went to an orthopedic. She recommended me to a physical therapist, I went to physical therapy for a few months, and my knees are almost as good as new. Just make sure you actually do the exercises your therapist gives you.
Also, RICE- Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Ice really does help with injuries.

Well maybe it's just a muslce pain. Or also maybe it's cold weather? But I recommend that you see a doctor.

It sounds to me like you may have retropatellar pain syndrome. Ok, I know it sounds made up, but that is what I was diagnosed with when I was in the Army. It could be that your Quadriceps muscle is overdeveloped on the inside of your leg, thereby pulling the kneecap slightly off track when you are running. To me, it felt like someone was prying my kneecap off from underneath/behind it. My reason for getting it was an injury to my other knee (1 ACL and 3 torn Meniscus) and I kept overcompensating with it.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that really can be done, except physical therapy, attempting to strengthen the muscles that are on the leg...

Good luck. Oh, and make an appointment to see an Orthopedist.

i broke and dslocated my knee and it feels just about the same with the angle nd standing up but i can run for a little while just fine

nothin u can do
