Is taking tylenol okay for a 12 year old?!

Question: I took two pills of Tylenol Cold, just like the box said.
12 years of age and over take two pills every 4 hours.
I'm turning 12 in a few months, anyways
after i took the pills, i was really dizzy, and that happened three times.
Is it okay for me to keep taking two?
I was okay with taking two yesterday

You really shouldn't be taking 2. That generally is for adults. 1 should be enough for you. I know when my daughter (12) broke her hand the doctor said she can take 2 tylenol if the pain was bad, so you will be fine Just dont do it alot. It is bad for your stomache.
Being dizzy could be from the cold. Also, you are probally getting tired, most of the cold medicine will do that to u...
You just need rest to get rid of the cold.
Feel Better

Ooops, i meant, im turning 13 in a few mnths Report It

  • If you're dizzy, stop taking them and tell your parents/doctor. It is most likely a side effect of what you're taking the tylenol for, but could be a result of the tylonel. Generally, it is okay for a person under 12 years of age to take tylenol, but it depends more on the weight of a person than the age.

It really depends on your weight, among other things.
PLEASE, call a pharmacist or your doctor and ask his/her opinion, they will know which questions to ask you in order to give you the correct advice.

Tylenol Cold isn't just Tylenol, it also contains a cough suppressant and a decongestant.

Normally, there would be no problem with taking the adult dose at your age. The dosage isn't a clear-cut thing that kicks in right on your birthday; it's just an approximation. In fact, what the necessary and safe dosage is really based on is your weight. If you weigh less than about 100 lbs., it's possible the dose could be too much for you.

However, the fact that you are experiencing dizziness related to the medication changes matters. Even if you were 40, this would be cause for concern. If you look at the detailed drug information on the box or insert, you will most likely see a warning that says to stop taking the drug if you experience some specific complications, and dizziness is probably one of them. My advice is not to take the drug again until you have discussed it with your doctor as this could be a sign of serious side effects.

A lot depends upon your weight. i would recommend taking one pill every 4 hours or take two every six hours. try dimetapp or tylenol children.

No!! You should always check with your parents or guardian before taking any type of medicine. This situation could actually become serious. Stop taking the pills.

If you are not feeling OK, stop taking those pills and go to your doctor
