Cut Question..?!

Question: lets say i want to put an ointment for my minor cut, and if i put a bandage on top of it will it be more or less effecitive eith out it?..should i put the bandage on overnight, or is it beter without it..?

In the day keep a band-aid on it, and at night keep it off so it gets air.
