Doctor or medical professional question!!?!
Question: when my hands are cold, the finger tips of my index fingers turn white like there is no blood circulation in them. They don't go back to the normal color until my hands are warm again. This just started happening within the last year. What could cause this?

Raynaud's phenomenon

You have very bad circulation, maybe clotting in them or something.
You should get them looked at by the doctor ASAP.
This is most likely caused by Raynaud's Phenomenon or syndrome... This is a pretty classic description of it, it can happen in the feet as well. Look it up online there are lots of good treatments out there now, including some cardiac meds which help open up blood vessels, but you must do the obvious keep hands and feet warm.... Good gloves ( and frankly mittens are best ) and warm socks are key
poor circulation
Sounds like a circulation problem. Heard smoking can cause this.
You could have poor circulation. When you get cold, the blood goes to the body to help keep it warmer, and sometimes hands turn white or even blue ... get some seriously INSULATED gloves for when you are out in cold weather ... and keep them ON at all times until you are inside and your body is warmed up enough ... that way the blood will be better distributed, and you shouldn't have 'white finger syndrome' any more.
Sounds like a common condition called Raynauds. Go see you MD. Don't let it stress you out, you wont loose your fingers or anything!
