Hi Tis94
Most likely if it is to the side of your lower spine then it will eb your Sacro-iliac joint. It is a joint that connects your spine (actually scarum) to your pelvis. Because it has no disc it can become inflamed easily and very painful.
Add in a few muscle spasms in the area and a few joints in your lower spine and back pain can be very uncomfortable.
You do not need to have any trauma for it to occur, it can build up over a few days or even weeks or longer. So it is likely to be a minor issue and the muscle tension causing most of your pain.
There are some simple exercises and techniques you can apply at home that will help. They are the same ones I teach my patients to use to help ease back pain. All 100% safe and highly effective for anyone to use.
However if your back pain doesn't settle quickly, either email me or seek help.
All the best
