taping it tightly when playing will help prevent further injury while u are playing but it WILL make healing slower.

make sure u wrap it tightly with an ace bandage when u are not playing and have him rest it as much as possible.

elevate it when sitting down. u can also apply ice to help reduce swelling and ease pain. place ice in bag first to avoid direct contact with skin. apply for 10-15 mins at a time.

if not allergic. u can take ibuprofen for pain/swelling. take 200-400mg every 6 hours as needed but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours.

the best things for healing a sprain are rest and time. playing on it will make it harder for it to heal.

last yr i sprianed my ankle right b4 volleyball season it sucked

basically all u can really do is ice it and try to stay off of it

also try going to a physical therapist,they really really help

i dont know about u but at my high school in cali,we have a physical therapist at the school all the time to help athletes with injuries,so c if u have one

wrap it in an ace bandage. put pillows underneath it to raise your ankle above your heart. put ice on it for 20-30 minutes. relax. one or two days to heal.
