Contact hours are of no use to anyone who is not a licensed, or certified person. CEU's (continuing education units) are needed by these persons to satisfy the requirements of the state they practice in, in order to keep their license current and in good standing.

If you took a course, and you are not a licensed person, you will probably learn something, or maybe even spark your interest in the medical profession. The contact hours do not count for anything else.

Usually, one who takes the contact hour course is asked to provide their license number.

I hope this information has helped you.
