I'm finding lately that I get very thirsty during the night and my mouth is?!

Question: feels like the bottom of a budgies cage in the morning.

Drinking water never seems to make much difference. Also I do not drink fruit juices or drinks with artifical sweeteners as these can cause dryness of the mouth.

So I'm lost for an explanation has anyone any ideas please?

Check out the diabetes thing first as someone above said. Also It could be central heating. If I have had mine on I always wake up feeling like I could drink a bath full of water. If you do have your heating on then sit a bowl of water on the radiator to make sure there is some moisture in the air.

What does the bottom of a budgies cage feel like?

Check yourself for diabetes .. it's a quick test and can save your life

when you sleep your body doesnt release the amounts of saliva into your mouth as when you are awake. this is also the cause of bad breath. this may be the cause or possibly diabetes.

me too

Could be a sign of diabetes. Go see your GP or Google diabetes symptoms.

maybe you've eaten foods that has high msg (e.g. junk foods, vetsin). this could cause you to feel thirsty and leave your mouth feeling dry especially before sleeping and sometimes drinking lots of water won't quench the thirst. =)

diabetes could also cause thirst, but also observe if you urinate a lot even if you don't drink too much liquid.

i feeel exactly the same, it prop cs u nose is blocked, innit, or u smoke weeeed all night like me, i used to be on 2 diert can of coke when sleeep, now just leave a 4pint glass of ribina!
