My pinky and ring finger are going numb on my left hand?!

Question: the problem is your ulnar nerve. it's either compressed or damaged. the most common location for this is at the elbow (the sensation of "banging your funny bone")

THIS IS NOT CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME, THAT IS EXCLUSIVE TO THE MEDIAN NERVE and your median nerve is fine.

quit smoking, it only gets worse!!

Give us more information please.
Did you have an injury?
How about a neck injury or neck pain?
How long have you had this problem?

I'd go to the doctors. There may be a blood clot or something similar.

I get the same thing in my index finger, but the doctor has told me thats a result of a fracture.

Have you tried bending the fingers for a while to try and increase the blood flow?

This is a common complaint in people who suffer from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with ulnar nerve compression. The ulnar nerve provides the impulses for feeling and sensation in half the middle finger (next to the ring finger side), the ring finger and pinky finger. B12 complex can be of some assistance and wearing a wrist splint at night. If the symptoms persist then you should see an orthopedist to have a nerve conduction study to evaluate the nerve functioning. The longer the nerve is compressed, the greater the danger the sensation will not come back even once the compression is relieved. If you do repetitive work or use vibrating tools at work then you might want to consider doing something different. This condition is treatable with steroid injection and/or surgical decompression.

Firstly... see your doctor, but I would checkout 'tennis elbow' or maybe a gangleon, you may have injured your arm or hand some time ago. I had three gangleons removed from my right wrist years ago and I got them simply by playing hockey for years and the constant jarring of the wrist caused them to blow up like golf balls in my wrist. Now have weak wrist, cant even cut a turkey roast with my right hand.

Sounds alot like Carpal Tunnel, I know because I have this myself on my right hand. The pain and numbness varies from fingers to wrist. Sometimes when it gets bad I can feel it travel up my fore arm. I bought a wrist brace and put it on whenever I can. Try to limit the use of that hand. The more movements the worse it gets. I can't type for long and my grip is not as strong as my left hand. I don't know if you're experiencing that as well. Anyways, it helps to stay off it and if the pain get bad put on a brace and take some pain killers.

I had something similar years ago. My thumb and the inside of my wrist would go numb. I was young and it was quite scary. I had a silly doctor ask me why it was numb lol For me it was tendonitis. See a doctor just to make sure everything is ok. They will probably do an xray. Nothing will probably show up but its best to cover all bases. When your doctor cant give you any answers - go see a physiotherapist.

The physio will get to the source. They will do a few different things. I have ultrasound therapy which is basically just a type of heat therapy. That was the best one for me. But the best thing they will do is give you a few stretches. They are the key to improving.

Good luck :)
