I think my dog may have broken my nose!?!
Question: My great dane hit me in the face with her head a few days ago. For the past 2 1/2 days my nose has been sore, and about midway down is a little red and swollen. I know theres not much you can do for a broken nose, especially if its not severe, but does it sound like a broken nose? Oh, and yesterday, my eyes looked really dark in the corners toward my nose. I dont think its severe enough to go to a Dr, seems to be getting better slowly.

Sounds right to me. If your septum is not deviated ( you would know this because you would have trouble breathing out of one side) there is nothing you can do. Warm or cold compresses - whichever feels best- will help the swelling resolve and the bruises will just have to go on their own. Watch out for that Dane, she sounds lethal.

I think that you shoudl definetely have that checked out, sounds like your ***** is damn violent. I mean, any dog that comes and just runs into you to break your nose. WTF?!?! Get that dog put to sleep, freakin a!
If you can put even the slightest pressure on your nose without severe pain occuring, it's not broken.
Talk to your doctor...while you can't put a cast on it, an MD can do some (painful) thigs that will minimise the damage.
As for the raccoon eyes, that is one indication of a possible broken nose...or simply a good punch in the face.

Hey Viper, Easy the dog could have just been playing. I have a little heeler. He jump-up and bumped me in the eye orbit and I had a black I for a couple of days. And he was just excited to see me. I'm not sure if your nose is broken, but the soreness will last for quite a long time either way.
