I lifted wieghts wrong...i think...and my back now hurts?!

Question: My lower back does. did i hurt my disc in my back?

Answers: My lower back does. did i hurt my disc in my back?

From my experience it is probably not a disc, you just strained the muscles of your lower back. I did that once so bad I couldn't walk the next day, but it wasn't a disc like I was afraid of....

Wear a belt from now on until your back and form/posture gets better.

You should go see a Sports Injury doctor. Before lifting weights you need to warm-up your muscles. You should either do some kind of aerobic excersize for 15 minutes or else just do some excersize with very light weights for 15 minutes. Either approach will help to warm up your muscles so that you don't hurt yourself when using heavier weights. You may have pulled a muscle or strained a muscle. I hope it's not a disc problem.

Only an x-ray or MRI can detect disc injury. If you are in severe pain go to your doctor.\ER ASAP. (if there is pain going down your legs go to ER) otherwise use over-the-counter pain meds, relax, use ice, if it is a recent injury for 48 hours; then apply heat to the area; complete gentle range-of-motion exercises and gentle stretching. Don't lift again until you are feeling better.

Maybe, maybe not. Your back muscles may ache from the strain of the lift. Keep back vertically straight when lifting weights from floor. Wear a weight lifting belt also.
