What can I do to help my back pain?!

Question: This is ridiculous, I'm only 22 and it feels like a strained my back, but I don't remember hurting it. Over the counter pain meds haven't helped, and I've tried ice packs, and rest, but it's not going away.

Back pain is one of the most common ailments suffered by humans. The spinal column, although horribly complex, is poorly designed and subject to injury, whereas the equivalent in my galaxy is very well protected. Anyway, we're talking about YOU.

First thing to do is get an X-ray which should determine the cause of your discomfort. Some humans suffer deterioration of spinal discs but generally not while they're still in their twenties. Physiotherapy may be necessary.

Personally, if I was in pain with a spine like yours, I would soak in epsom salts and sleep on a hardwood floor.

Good luck.

Unfortunately age has no bearing on back problems. Get to a doctor and have him order an x-ray or better yet an MRI. See what's going on in there. In the meantime try a moist heating pad for 20 minutes at a time. I'm 53 and now have chronic back problems but at about your age I did injure my back. It eventually eased with rest and heat but the damage had been done.
