Anyone out there with Fibromyalgia feel like me?!

Question: Okay, Am I the only one out there with FMS that thinks that the commercial for the "new" drug Lyrica makes people with FMS look like loons? I mean give me a break "my muscles ache, tender to the touch" . PLEASE.....I live with the pain, manage it, & cope daily. This commercial is insulting! Is seems so ridiculous...writing in a pain journal...give me a break. How about a real person!!! Please, tell me I'm not alone.

Thank you for saying that! I was on lyrica for aprox 6 weeks and it didn't really help much. Every time I see that commercial I want to throw the remote through the TV. I hate the lady thats on there, shes older and she's painting come on! This doesn't really represent a disease that strikes mainly young women in their childbearing years. If I wanted to paint I would for crying out loud! I need to get out of bed in the morning, get to work and get through the day with out crying! Keep up the good fight!

I have lots of patients with fibromyalgia trust me when i tell you your not alone.I'm sorry to hear that you have this disorder and i know its rough.Good luck to you.

I've had this disease for 5 yrs. now. That commercial makes me ill and I tried the Lyrica. It didn't work. I try to live with it every day also but there are some days I can't get out of bed as the pain is so bad. I have a script for lortab but try not to take all the time, zanaflex for muscles, cymbalta and wellbutrin for the depression. Couldn't handle this disease at first as I have other things wrong as well. Couldn't understand where it came from, why me, why is there anything that really helps. do you ever feel like a guinea pig for doctors?? Me to. Your this first person I seen on here.. Have you tried a tens unit yet,I use it everyday, helps alittle.
The Best of luck to you.!!!!

I have not seen the Commercial, however I used to be a Journalist and so you are not alone. The Media choose to portray illness in a 'positive light' unrealistic and makes us feel as if we are alone. What happens is, Two Coaches Crash on a main road and Journalists are dispatched. You arrive, no one is dead, no real injuries, it was not so much a crash as a bump. However the News Paper are paying you to work, travel, so as such it was a waste of time. You get back and the News Editor screams where is the story and you kinda say what story and explain what you located. Then just as you leave you mention the Guide Dog and it was taken to the local Vet to be checked out. Next you see the screaming headlines 'Head on Collision, Dog survives'. You then read 500-1000 words on the headline to realize it is not headline news. The Commercial is aimed at people to march into the Doc and scream LYRICA! Good Luck

Your not alone, I did try lyrica and it did,nt work for me. I have ra as well as fms and the enbrel helps with the pain and clearing the (fibro fog) but been in pain for 10 years now 24-7
I'm a single father of a 10 year old boy and he is the reason i get out of bed everyday,as long as i try and keep busy as much as possible that helps to,But then there's those kwacks
( doctors ) 1 even suggested that it was all in my head?needless to say i gave him a piece of my mine and never returned, so good luck to you and don't give into the desease.
