OMG GANGREEN!!!Green cuticle w/ puss is it possibly gangreen?!

Question: I have no recollection of any possible cause to this small swelling green spot injury. But I put pressure on it and green puss came out. It is really small but I don't want to lose the whole hand or finger. Should I go to the hospital? Any idea of what it is??

that occasionally happens to me. its an infection. what i do, is i poke it with a saftey pin, or something sharp enough to barley break the skin, making the green stuff leave. then just put it in hydrogen peroxide to clean it out. it might hurt a little getting everything out. and usually it bleeds like a tiny bit, but it works. i hope i helped!!

Get it checked out.

Sounds like an infection of some sort, I highly doubt it's gangreen.

I'd bet on paronychia, but one can hardly diagnose on YA.

Gangrene is a way different type of problem than what you describe.

You do have an infection.

Go see a doctor. He/She will prescribe antibiotics to help your wound heal properly.

It is not uncommon to get a small infection of the cuticle due to injury or ingrown nail. You should probably see a doctor instead of treating it yourself. You might need antibiotics if the infection is spreading. The doctor will probably clean the area well and lance it or maybe remove a little piece of nail if it has gotten ingrown. Nothing to be too concerned about, but you should see your family doctor within a day or two. Until you get in to see the doctor, soak the finger in warm water with epsom salts for a few minutes twice a day, dry it carefully and keep it clean and covered with a thin layer of antibiotic ointment (neosporin or bacitracin) and a bandaid over it. Even if it is a different problem, this treatment will help prevent further infection and will not do any harm.

what is gangreen? what does it do to you? huh?
