Not laying flat down in bed. And sitting up straight.
Having a big glass of milk.
Doing a giant burp.
Eating some bread.
I found going for a walk helped as it stimulated digestion and passed the aggrevating food more quickly.

Take a deep breath and exhale. usually that helps lessen the sting a bit. If it occurs while your a sleeping the best thing to do is simply roll over to a new position..

I am a Rolaid fan. I 'll take chewable rolaids.

Acid reflux can be caused my many things. Usually a few things you can do are avoiding things that may exacerbate it such as spicy food, caffeine and alcohol.

If you get it worse at night, raising your head above your stomach can help, as can raising the head end of your bed. No PPI's such as Gaviscon can help by forming a "shield" on top of your stomach contents to prevent reflux.

It is important that if you are having this prob a lot, you should goto your doctor as you may have an ulcer or a problem with the muscle at the top of your stomach.

Prolonged exposure to stomach acid in your esophagus can increase your risk of esophageal cancer, so it's best to check it out

I don't know about other people, milk never helps me, but coke does! Go figure!

eat something absorbant crackers, absorb the acid. Unsalted is best

a very old home remedy i found was add a little baking soda in small glass of water mix and drink its to help heartburn and it works great
