Question: i have a question for my mother...pain on her upper left and right abdomen......she says that mild pain on her upper left and right abdomen also when she breathes it hurts in those spots and eats or drinks she says she feels bloated.also when she lays down her sides hurt...what could it be.. she says she's not constipated....can any one help try to figure out what it could be?

it could be a number of things. she needs to go to the doctor to be certain of what is causing her discomfort. It could be anything from her liver,gallbladder,ectopic pregnancy, ulcers, cysts,gas. The only way to find out for sure is for her to go see her primary care physician.
gas? gall bladder? pulled muscle if she lifted something heavy recently?
I sure hope it isn't what I had- my gallbladder and an ulcer at the same time. If she is bent over in pain and it hurts beyond belief- she needs to go to the ER- her gallbladder could leak toxins into her blood. This happened to me and I was soooo sick for months! I could only eat sips of chicken noodle broth and nibbles of crackers. She needs a good doctor. I surely hope this is only gas- I have gone to the ER with SEVERE gas pain. No shame, it is truly painful. I hope she is feeling better soon. Take good care- try yogurt.
