Question about this medication Norco?!


Question: What is this prescribed for? My brother in law gave me one for a bad headache, and it did help but made me have a rebound heeadache-i know it is not for headaches and that is probably-he takes alot of different meds and i forgot what he said he had them for and yes i know i should not take meds pres.for others..and i wont anymore but i am just curious as to what Norco is pres. for

it's very similar to a vicodin but has a little more of the narcotic opiate agent hydrocodone. Norco has 10 mg as opposed, but a little less tylenol (350mg) as opposed to vicodin with 5mg or 7.5 of the hydrocodone agent for extra strength vicodin. It's a drug with a very good safety profile if taken as prescribed. Basically it is a last stop before moving on to a morphine based drug such as percocet or oxycontin

This is used to treat severe pain.
It is a Narcotic painkiller.
Just a note, it is actually illegal to share medication particularly a narcotic like this.

Norco is a just another brand name (like Vicoden)
Generic Name: acetaminophen and hydrocodone.

To treat a headache, you might be better off getting a prescription for 600mg of Ibuprophen.
