You are right it is not the dosage (which is actually 500mg Tylenol/30mg Codeine Phosphate) the numbers are a product code to identify the tablet in question, such codes are normally found on most pharmaceutical pills and tablets for this purpose, where the pill has become dissociated with its blister pack or bottle and thus its label.

Sometimes these codes can be something which makes some sense ie some letter identification related to the name sometimes also with numbers related to the dosage (like for example OxyContin 80mg tablets are marked OC 80) or like in this case a code which does not provide any real information without access to a suitable database (These can be reached online, or via a range of telephone services), essentially they are the same as any other product code and serve the same principal purpose.

they are probably to identify the pill. sort of like a batch number. incase there is a problem with that batch it can be recalled. you are correct they are not the dosage.

That is the identification number for that particular medication. It helps if you find a loose pill somewhere to be able to determine what it is.
