I don't know if my leg is dislocated or if I just pulled a leg muscle? Help!!

Question: I had my leg bent on my little drawer trying to remove a spliter on my knee, I had all of my weight on my heel and all of a sudden my leg slipped and it pulled my leg down. I couldn't move for a minute it felt like it was locked I got up and i felt discomfort on my leg [where the leg and the hip meet] it feels like it has to be popped back so i can walk right. But it hurts to try!! What happend and how can i fix my leg? Any streches that might help me asap?

How is your range of motion? How much movement do you have until it hurts to go any further? You may have slightly dislocated it. Put ice on the painful area for 20 min a few times daily and take 3-4 ibuprophen for 3 days. If u dont feel better, please have it assessed by a doctor. let me know how u feel. :)

if you popped your hip out you would be in too much pain to be typing a questions on yahoo answers.

if you can stand up you are ok.

my brother popped his hip out and had to have major surgery on it, he could not move, had to be air lifted coz he was in so much pain he couldnt lay down (he did it by sitting down, odd! he couldnt get out of that position)

if you are stil worried go see a doc

I agree, dislocations are very painful and cause major damage you wouldnt be standing or trying to stand if it was dislocated. And as for stretches try laying down on your back and without picking your back off the ground at all move your injured leg across your body untill it pinches then hold for 12 seconds you should do this probably 5 times a day just to keep the muscle loose so it heals faster.
