Brushing teeth accident?!

Question: So I was brushing my teeth I week ago, and I think I did it too fast and I slipped with the brush and scraped some skin from the internal lower labial skin, near the gums but on the lip side. Now I have like a 3mm radius "crater" that hurts like hell, it won't heal and it's been over a week now. What can I do to heal it? It doesn't let me eat, brush my teeth, drink certain beverages. I need help.

You can rinse out your mouth with a warm salt water mix. (I always wondered why you were supposed to gargle salt water for a cold. Turns out it's an amazingly good germ killer.) The salt will kill the germs and the warm water will soothe the cut. (just don't make it TOO strong a mix, or it will sting sting sting.)

I had the same problem...I just applied a oral medicine called orajel directly to the wound 2-3 times a day and it cleared up in a week. Other oral medicines work well too.

add a teaspoon of salt to some warm water and swish it around in ur mouth

I would put ora-jel and drink some vodka :)

It will heal itself after a while. Forget about it and avoid eating with that part of your mouth.

Brushing your teeth is pretty high up there on the danger scale. Up with handling raw plutonium and skydiving without a parachute. You should be more careful, maybe you should stick to mouthwash.

OK the WORST THING you can do is "add a teaspoon of salt to some warm water and swish it around in ur mouth" - Moron who said that.

You gotta put jel on it.
