My parents blood type is B+,and i am A2B is that possible??!

Question: ok, let me set the record straight... for the people above me and the person asking the question... there IS a type A2B blood type, it is a subgroup of type AB, there are actually more subgroups than just that (there are also A2 and A3 individuals, which is different than type A people)... and there are also type Oh (Bombay) people, who are completely different than type O patients (these Oh people cannot even receive blood from type O patients, they can only receive other Oh blood)... there are tons of rare blood types out there that are not common knowledge... but to answer your question... it is not possible for you to be A2B (or AB for that matter) if your parents are BOTH TRULY type B... this is simply because your parents do not carry the A gene, and therefore would not be able to pass it along to you... if a person has the antigens necasssry to be typed as A or B, or any combination there of, it will show up in routine blood testing... basically the only way it would be possible is through an error in testing by the lab, and that is certainly a possibility... as errors do occur from time to time... perhaps one of your parents is a subgroup also, that is possible because it runs in the family... this is an easy situation to clear up... you and your parents go have yourselves retyped... and if that still doesnt work, there are molecular tests available to clear this up for you and your family... the results will be back to you rather quickly and all this confusion will be cleared up, good luck!

well, theree you are!!!
guess evrythg is possible!

First of all there is no such blood type as A2B. If both of your parents blood type is B then the only possible blood type for you would be either B or O.

The four blood types are: A, B, AB and O. I've gone through 3 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology and there was never any mention of A2B blood type.
