Lower back pain after using the bathroom?!

Question: I had surgery 2 months ago for a bowel obstruction and didn't experience any problems using the restroom. Within the last month anytime I go to the restroom I have pain in my lower back. It makes it difficult to walk. I have to sit down and let the pain subside before resuming my normal activities. Once the pain is gone I am back to normal.

I would mention this to the doctor. it could be from the surgery and something normal or it could be caused from something else. better to just have it checked out than to fool around and be in pain all the time. Pain is your bodies way of saying, "Look something is wrong."

i would definitely talk to your PCP or even the surgeon's office that performed the operation. this may be a normal part of the healing process, but i think you're better off safe than sorry. the bowels and intestines are nothing but bacteria basically and have an increased chance of infection after such a recent surgery. if they say its normal for some pain you might try some stool softeners or fiber supplements, that may be more or less your problem, not soft enough for the tender spots still healing.

It's probably your kidneys.

You should have called your surgeon as soon as the pain started. Call him/her on Monday and make an appointment.

Please see doctor, However the conditions you are explaining, it appears that some nerve fiber comes under strain during your some specific movement. Pain is an alarm for any thing abnormal
