Is my finger broken?!?!

Question: I was doing a roundoff back handspring in my yard and kinda messed up and landed on my index finger. I can bend it down and straighten it a little but it is swollen at the bottom of my finger and my knucke and it hurts to move it alot.

I am a gymnast so I know what that is like... I have broken my fingers before. You need to use the RICE method... R= rest I= ice C= compression (you should probably just use sports tape or something for this one. Buddy tape it to the next finger- middle) and E= elevation. Take some Ibuprofen so it can ease the pain and lessen the swelling... also when I broke my finger I could move it a little too, and it was really swollen, so you should go to the doctors or the ER to get it checked out... I hope this helps and I hope you fell better.

you should go to a doctor

It doesn't sound like it broken because if your finger was broken then you wouldn't be able to move it at all. You probably just sprained it.

the same thing happened to me 4 months ago. i was fighting with my brother and i hit the table super hard by accident. then the knucle bruised up and got majorly swollen. i dont think its broken otherwise you coulndt be able to type. i havent gone to the hospital so i think its alright but when i squeeze it, it hurts a bit.

See the doctor

WebM.D.

Haven't you seen the commercials? "I broke my foot, sprained my ankle... I went to WebM.D. so many times I got Carpotennel Syndrome"

Take a big swig of whiskey, then hammer it out with a mallet until it is straight. You can then wrap it with duct tape.

U have a severe sprain so all u need is an analgesic like Ipubrufen and to immobilise the finger by wrapping it with a band
If a bone is broken the pain is so severe that u cant withstand it and will be crying for help
