More joints are clicking, why? Can it be stopped?!

Question: Im 17 years of age, 11 stone, 5'8. About 1year ago, the only thing i could click was my toes.
Year later - now my shoulders click when i rotate them, wrist clicks when i bend em, leg joints click when i pivot. Even my neck clicks when a roll my head left to right.

It is not painful, i just feel/hear the clicking. I would like to try stop this altogether incase anything bad comes from it. A friend told me i needed more calcium. However im not sure if its my bones, as it is the actual joints that click.

Think it may have gotton worse due to my judo and weightlifting sessions. However judo is generally safe, and i dont overdo the weights.

Why am i turning into a clicking machine??
- And -
Is there any supplements i could buy from Holland & Barret to stop whatever is causing the clicking.

Any answers explaining what it is and how to stop it are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

wel firstly the clicking noise is created by air entering your joints. this causes the popping sound. When you walk, your joints might pop themselves due to stress. It is the same feeling your back gets after a good pop from a Chiropractor, the joints are destressing.

Joints are supported by an arrangement of muscles and tendons. Some people have slightly lax joints and when this is the case the joint may click. Minor injuries such as a sprain may cause the joint to start clicking because inflammation and damage disrupts the stability and organisation of the supporting muscles and tendons. however is this is the reason then the clicking should dissapear once the injury has healed also it is more often than not the person won't even be aware that the injury has happened.

Provided that when the joint clicks it isn't associated with pain, swelling, redness or a reduction in the joint's movements, then it's probably all right to ignore it. If any of these symptoms are present then the doctor should be consulted.

to be honest its nothin to worry about, mine click all the time, especially both my wrists as i broke them both (at the same time) in a freak accident, they now click on every rotation.

if your gonna get calcium tablets get ones with vitamin d otherwise your wasteing money, vit d helps body absorb calcium

I'm a clicking machine too. 15 years old :) Maybe it's 'cos we're growing?

I can click: neck, fingers, toes, ankles, knees.

We're special, don't worry about it.

I'm a clicker and I'm alive. Are you skinny? I'm not sure what 11 stone is here.

It is usually due to a build up of urea in the joint. The traditional way is to add cider vinegar to your diet. The other way is to see a homeopath.(if you can find a good one.....price is no guide...very often the dearest are the worst).
