Hydrocodone...?!

Question: is 500mg of hydrocodone a lot? for a weight of like 115.

That would be an exceptional amount.

You are reading the label wrong. It is 500mg acetaminophen and either 5mg, 7.5mg, or 10mg of hydrocodone. If you are not accustom to this medication just take one until you know how they affect you.

What are you taking it for? And no its not alot as long as it was prescribed by your doctor and you take it as directed. Try to cut in half first if your worried,..VERY addicting drug.
Good Luck

the person ahead of me is crazy. I have two bottles of it and I never take it. Its not addictive unless you already have a addictive type personality. They usually prescribe 500's when you get a tooth removed or have a small medical procedure. I get the 7.5 now and I am 130. If you feel like it is too strong for you break it in half and if you feel like its not enough take one and half. The bottle probably says take two.

i got that an codeine 3 when i cut off part of my finger with a butchers knife its good for sever pain but take an otc medicine when the pain isent so severe it does get adiciting.....

no, you'll be fine. the question above me is accurate, the 500 is refering to the tylenol in it. It probably contains 5 mg or 7 mg of hydrocodone.

If you took 500mg. of hydrocodone you are now dead.

I have been taking it everyday for years and I take 4x day, 10/500 hydrocodone (loratab). The 10 part is the hydrocodone and the 500 part is 500mg of Tylenol

Everybody talks about what a bad drug it is and how you become addicted. I've been taking it for 10 years thanks to a car accident with a drunk driver. I've never taken more than the Rx says, I never run out, and I never try to get them any other way.
For people in chronic pain being addicted to it is no problem at all. The doctors are fully aware that it is addictive and they are very clear when they give long term Rx's for it that you become addicted. For people with certain conditions it is no different than someone with diabetes taking insulin or heart patients taking Plavix, it allows them to live.
It is what allows me to somewhat function as normal due to my spine injury.
