Question: i have strep throat and my dad gave me what he thinks is pencillen because he just got over it to.but the lable fell off and he was not sure it could be something else. the pill is white, oval and says PVK 500 can anyone confirm this please

Dude, you really really shouldn't be taking someone else's meds.
Antibiotic prescriptions are meant to be used by the recipient FULLY. Meaning that your old man, may be thrifty, but that he has not only committed an illegal act (Yes you can get in trouble for that), but that he hasn't fully killed off his strep throat infection.
Thus any strep bacteria that haven't been killed off yet, are now immune to that penicillin he was using. And thus are more virulent in attacking someone. Someone like you.
Or someone else.
Such behaviors are what is causing antibiotic resistance amongst so many pathogens today.
