Sore Finger, advice please?!

Question: I hit my finger at work yesterday, I was carrying 50lbs of butter (I work in a bakery) and as we were lifting it onto the table I jammed it intothe side of the table and it got bent backwards. this morning its been hurting while I've been doing everything. I can move it pretty well but when I do there is a weird crackling feeling and a pain goes down my finger into my hand. it escpescially hurts if I put pressure on either side of the nail. its my pinky finger. could it be fractured or sprained? I already asked this question and nobody really answered it

Could be fractured but if it is, not much you can do. I would buddy tape it and go on because that will protect it from jamming. Otherwise it was likely sprained. Again, buddy taping it (to the other one) may be helpful. This is to protect it.

It could very well be fractured or sprained. I would suggest splinting it to immobilize it, then see your doctor.

Well besides going to see a doctor you could use a splint to help stabilize your fingre. You could also tape it to your ring finger to help stablize your pinkyfingure. Ice in a plastc bag then wrapped with a dish towel should help the pain. you could also try an over the counter pain releiver like tylenol, asprin, or ibuprofin to help with the pain and swelling. Good luck but I would see a doctor to make sure you do not need any corrective surgery.
