Join a support group, call 1-800-QUIT NOW. they have support there for you 24/7. A friend of mine said to brush your teeth with cinnamon toothpaste and use cinnamon mouthwash. Drink Grapefruit juice. If you smoke in your house, make it a point to not do it. Put your cig's in the car and only smoke outside. Sometimes the weather prevents us from wanting to go out, therefore you may be able to at least cut way back. If that doesn't work, try setting a timer and not having a cigarette until the timer goes off, initially set it for 60 minutes and add more time as you feel you can make the adjustment. Read a book and tell yourself you aren't going to smoke until you have read 100 pages. Pick up a hobby that requires you to use your hands. Idol hands do the devils work,,,(smoking) I smoke but want to quit, I don't smoke in my home and never in the car when people are in there with me. I must smoke outside and right now its winter here in Ohio. Its really too cold to go out often so i just don't. Also, in order to effectively manage your addiction, find out what your smoking triggers are, is it coffee, the phone, eating, then consciously try to avoid the triggers.

Good luck. I know its hard, i have quit several times and have been smoke free for several years each time. but always seem to fall back on it...AND,,if all else fails, come to Ohio.,,,,

Here in ohio you can't smoke anywhere, not in restaurants, bars, bingo halls, on school property, no where.

DONT BELIVE THAT COMMERCIAL!!!! CHANTIX works GREAT!!!!!

I started it on Jan 1st last year and had my last cig. on Jan. 21st. This lasted for 6 months with almost no cravings but then I had a lot of stress in my life very suddenly and started smoking again. about 2 packs a day.

Well I started the Chantix again 1 week ago and am down to 8 cigs a day. Only side effect may be slight headache and upset stomach if you dont eat with it!!

Try it man it REALLY works!!!!

Forget you have stress, then you can give up. You have to decide to give up.. Best of luck...

I'm only 25, but have been smoking for about 9 years or so. I would like to quit myself. I was honestly thinking about hypnosis. I have not heard any bad things about that. But, I would do a little bit more research on it before I did it. A guy I work with quit on chantix. I guess, chantix depends on the person. I would do some research on it and consult your doctor before taking it.
