My 18 month old sucked on an Ibuprofen pill, will he be ok?!
Question: He handed me a pill that said I-2 on it.. all the brown coating was sucked off of it but the pill was still entact. I FREAKED out, I dont have a car to take him to the doctor or hospital but if it was life serious of course I would call an ambulance. What should I do? Do you think he will be ok?? FYI- All my medicine is kept up high with childproof containers so I haven't a clue how he got this pill.

Since the pill was intact and only the brown coating was sucked off I am sure he will be fine, should be no need to panic...but I would call poison control to see what they say. 1-800-764-7661. Good luck and I hope he is fine...Give an update to let us know. :D
What you can do is to call your local poison control center and ask them over the phone. They will tell you what to do. Or you could call your doctor and tell him what happened over the phone and he might be able to help you. Call a friend who has a car and have them drive you to your doctor. If your 18 month old found 1 pill, he might have eaten others too... just a thought. I would for safety sake go get your toddler checked out.
Call poison control immediately
Some how try and find a way to get to the doctor. Either that or call the poision control center and ask them what to do. It might not be enough to do damage, but you do not want to take a chance.

What you should do is call your Dr. or Poison Control Center don't come here in a situation like that not that I'm putting you down or anything.....Just call and make sure the child will be okay and keep the number handy to P.C.C. as this type of thing can happen at anytime to anyone .....Good Luck to you and the baby. If he only sucked on it, he should be fine. You've got a smart baby. He actually handed you the pill. Give him some water and check on his status from time to time. Might want to perform a security check to figure out how he got the pill.
