Does anyone else get severe pains in their eyes after ???!

Question: Does anyone get severe pains in their eyes after removing their contact lenses? It doesn't matter if I leave them in for a day or a week, when I take them out it feels like I have pieces of glass up in the top part of my lids. It hurts so bad! It takes several hours for it to go away. Does this happen to anyone else and if so do you know why and what can be done to correct it??

I used to wear contacts and had the same problem. The pain was horrible. I ended up going in for Lasik eye surgery to not have to deal with the pain anymore. Also try changing brands of contacts... I had less problems with Acuvue 2 Oasis

I wear contacts everyday and I don't have this problem. I think you should go see your optometrist to get your eyes checked to avoid further complications. It sounds like the inside of your eylids may be infected or something..
Do you make sure you clean your contacts everyday and put them in fresh solution? You shouldnt leave them in for more than 16 hours.. you have to take them out when you sleep.
I wear Dailies and theyre good as you dont have to worry about cleaning them everyday.
Good luck :-)

Well i don't wear contact lenses so i probably won't be much of a help to you

Sounds like you might have infection in your eye. Better call your eye doctor and get appt. soon. Because it will get so bad that you want be able to wear contact for a long time.

i agree with the previous people. you should go get it checked out. i also wear contacts pretty much everyday and don't have this problem. sometimes when i take them out my eyes get super itchy and tired because they haven't completely breathed all day, but it never feels like shards of glass. definately should get that checked out.

Yes I experienced this pain after putting-off my contacts, at first i drink pain killer ... it helps a lot but after a second time around, i just compress my eye with hot towel ... need to relax our eye after wearing contact and don't do sleep with your contract on.
