Appendectomy help?!
Question: I got my appendix taken out two days ago and I'm an active, competitive baton twirler. How long should i wait until i even try to twirl? What can i do for a fast, healthy recovery? I'm home by the way. Thanks!

Recovery from appendectomy takes a few weeks. Doctors usually prescribe pain medication and ask patients to limit physical activity. Recovery from laparoscopic appendectomy is generally faster, but limiting strenuous activity may still be necessary for 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. Most people treated for appendicitis recover excellently and rarely need to make any changes in their diet, exercise, or lifestyle.

If you have already left the hospital, which you say you have, you should have been given discharge instructions telling you what you need to know about your recovery. If you did not get such instrucitons, or do not understand them, or they are poorly written or whatever, please read link below and ask your doctor.
you got to ask your doctor or physical therapist that one...how would we know? i mean seriously...
just so you know you will be told that you can return to your usual activity within 4-6 weeks but do not do anything strenuous because the surgery on the inside can take up to 6 months to heal. Practice your baton twirling while sitting in your chair or even standing just don't do all of the jumps and turns /twists that go along with it.
