What can I do about my a previously broken bone hurting again?!
Question: About a year and a half ago I broke, sprained and tore ligaments in my right ankle. Recently it's become quite painful again. It feels like it is broken again, because whenever I touch the outside of my ankle it causes a lot of pain. Occasionally at nights it will be painful to walk, but it always hurts to touch it. Is this normal, and what can I do to help ease this pain, besides OTC pain medications?

There could be some arthritis or the scarring. Ibuprofen (Motrin) or naproxyn (Aleve) are better than acetaminophen (Tylenol), since they are also anti-inflammatory. Heat/Cold or topical rubs may help.
You obviously had a serious injury - lots of damage to lots of tissues. This damage can change the bio-mechanics of your foot and ankle - which will create chronic pain. You may want to get a complete evaluation by your family Chiropractor and a good Podiatrist. Correcting the abnormal bio-mechanics may solve your problem.
Best wishes and good luck.
