Will I need knee surgery?!
Question: About 6-weeks ago I feel on my knee. I have had the fluids drained, one time and it has since swelled again. Many x-rays showed nothing, but I have the results now from the MRI. BTW - I have an appointment to speak with the Orthopedist in a few days but I'm wondering if any of you can tell me what might be in store for me. Curiousity is getting the best of me.
Mild edema involving the medial tibial plateau. There is internal degeneration to the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus, without meniscal or ligamentous tears.

u should heal with a couple of rounds or PT and maybe a Cortizone injection or two(usually done if the PT isnt helping much with the swelling and pain)... However if after 2 months of PT u are still not feeling any relief then surgery may be an option....
MRIs though 90% acurate can miss very small tears and somtimes even larger ones if the swelling is significant...
best of luck with ur recovery
Sounds like you have chronic bursitis . If rest does not cure this , surgery is indicated
you should heal without surgery but it will take time
