What do doctors do if you become reliant on a medicatin?!

Question: So I was diagnosed with clinical insomnia several months ago. They tried a few different way to help me sleep, but none really worked. They put me on the wonderful (sarcasm) sleep aid Ambien CR to see if it would work- and for the most part it does... but its gotten to the point where I NEED to take it. Sometimes I think I may be able to ACTUALLY sleep by myself, but without the sleep aid I can't fall asleep at all. So my doctor only gave me a prescription for a certain amount of time and then I'd have to come in for a 'review' in a few months. Well the time is up and I don't want to sound like a total drug addict- but Im really afraid if i tell her I'm addicted to it she will just take me off of it immediately. I don't think they will find a way to wean me off of it (it is Group Health) if she decides I need to get off of it.
Do doctors usually not just rip you off of a drug you become relaint on and if they dont, will they usually find a way to get you off of it or am i stuck?

You need to get a DR that isn't prescription happy, find one that prescribes skills and healthy lifestyle. The Pharma-pushers give the docs kickbacks for pushing. The Insurapists are just legal extortion and have their hands in the pockets of ALL parties involved from you to the pushers to the docs. You can get off the stuff but it might be painful as far as withdrawal is concerned. I have a chronic illness that is kept in check without any drugs, just eating well, exercise, and some supplements that are geared to my particular issue. The Pharma-pushers want you to stay hooked, so does the doc and he will only adjust your meds or prescribe something new if you complain. There are reasons why you are not sleeping and those need to be addressed instead of giving you drugs. What hours are you working? Smoke? Drink a lot? Caffiene late in the day? Stress? Poor Diet? There are a ton of things that will keep a person from good sleep. Bad bed?

Look into this book"The Prescription for Nutritional Healing" by the DRs Mr and MRS Balch, this book helped me take control of my health and now I tell my DR what I will and will not do, do your research and take control of your own health, those rapists are after your pocket, not your health and happiness!!!!!

Good luck! And get some rest!!!!

You can become addicted to Ambien. They usually won't take you off the medication immediately, they will reduce dosage so you will not experience withdrawal symptoms. If you feel "addicted" to the Ambien then you need to contact your doctor. After you are weaned from Ambien, she can try and start you on another sleep aid.

Good Luck
