Oxycontin 20mg tabs vs. Morphine 30mg tabs. Neither are generic.?!

Question: My doctor switched me from 20mg Oxycontin tabs (scored OC/20) to 30mg Morphine tabs (scored M/30). Im curious to which is a stronger medicine. The Oxycontin works well and I will be able to take the Morphine at bedtime tonight. I'm curious if it is stronger than oxycontin...(these specific dosages). If anyone has legit information or knows of a website where I can read on it please let me know. Only serious answers please because this is a serious question. Not for recreactional use. I would love to be pain free but a back disease has prevented me from ever being like this. I am 21years old, 220lbs, 6'3" and have had a back disease since I was 12years old. Started taking the Oxycontin when I was 18 and switched today to the Morphine. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks and have a great day/night.

They prescribe morphine to patients with more pain it is stronger typically they give it to dying patients and burn victims let me find you a comparison site hang on
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OxyContin
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morphine

Don't know if any of those will help you but outta personal experience and seeing others with similar issues morphine always tended to be a longer acting better pain reliever

Go to this site(written by pharmacists) and when you get it up, click on the medications tab. find the medication and it will tell you all about what it is not compatible with along with a lot of other info.

http://www.medicinenet.com has full medicine info
My best,
Hope

Morphine is the gold standard for pain management. There are several types of analgesics, acting on various receptors.

Maybe your pain control is not as well-managed as when you just begun in the oxycodone therapy. Since you were on oxycontin for about 3 years, perhaps your physician switched your analgesic in order to stimulate a different set of pain receptors.
