Trouble sleeping at night, what works?!

Question: Get up early, maybe not 4am but at least by 7.
Don't sleep during the day.
Exercise as much as possible, if you don't want to run then extra walking.
No coffee or tea after 6pm.
Aim at 7 to 8 hours sleep so in bed by 11 or 12.
When in bed don't TRY to go to sleep. Try to think about something that is pleasurable but complicated. Maybe what you did every day on your last holiday, something like that.

My trick is to get up at 4 a.m. and constantly stay on the move until bedtime..... You will be so exhausted that as soon as your head hits the pillow, you will have no problem falling asleep!! :) If this is not an option, see your doctor, as there are a lot of non-habit forming medications that can be prescribed. Good Luck!

unfortunately i got addicted to nyquil...... hmmm i miss that stuff.... but i have been taking simply sleep, its made by tylenol..... its been working o.k. too.....

i think that drinking hot drinks such as hot chocolate helps me sleep just before or while im in bed. Warmth helps me sleep a lot, also reading coz it makes your eyes tired and also jogging on the spot for about 5 mins makes you feel exhausted and makes you feel tired. Obviously sleepingin the dark helps. Candles can be quite soothing too at night time.
