I spilled hot oil all over my hand, what can I do?!

Question: I was making dinner and I spilled hot oil all over my hand. I have put some ice on it but the pain is excrutiating. I don't think it's bad enough to go to the ER, though. Is there anything else I can do?

Ok, you actually don't want to put anything like butter or anything oily on it. It will trap the heat in and your skin will fry even worse. I agree with some above, ice, dermaplast, etc. they make OTC burn sprays and creams. If blisters form you do need to go see a Dr.

put mayonnaise on it

oh yeah ! get some Dermoplast or aloe vera put in a refrigerator after taking care put some cocoa butter that way it don't leave you no scar.

Ice is about as good as you can do.
And you might get some some advice to put burn spray, butter or cream on it don't if the burn is worse then it looks now and you do go to the E.R. they will need to scrub the burn and you don't want that.
Keep a close eye on it if it starts to blister badly seek medical attention.

run under cool water, go to the doctor anyway(2nd and 3rd degree burns need to be evaluated)

You really have to go to the ER but NEVER spread Ice on Your hand that is going to make it worse. Just wash cold water but NEVER Ice.
