Involuntary muscle twitching above my eye?!

Question: My eyelid above my left eye has been twitching off and on for about 2 weeks. It's painless, but very irritating. It's not affecting my vision or anything like that. I've had it happen before, but never for this long. I feel like it's a sign of stress or tiredness, but I've tried getting plenty of sleep and relaxing... and it's still twitching. Anyone know what causes the twitching like that? It's driving me crazy!

Eye twitching is almost always caused by either stress or tiredness. So...

Make sure your getting enough sleep (around 8 hours per night)
Take a relaxing bath or chill out on the sofa with a mug of hotchocolate. (What better than having a medical reason to do this?!)

Good luck. X

sometimes this happens to me for a couple of days after a really hard work out. Been lifting weights?

It's not uncommon. Happens a lot.

Could be a magnesium deficiency.

This actually has been happening to me the past couple weeks. I extended my sleeping hours a bit (around 8-9 a night) and took extended hot showers.

It seemed to do the trick for me. Everything seems ok now. Not sure what it is but can relate on how irratating it could be.
