exercise and relax.

just like the guy above me said... exercise. a good work out may help you sleep better. also, if you're taking in caffeine during the day, stop. stay away from coffee, tea, energy drinks... anything like that. if you need an energy boost to get you going eat fruit or stock up on "Naked" juices (they sell them at the grocery store. Their healthy, no caffeine, and really get you feeling recharged.

the one tea you may want to try is chamomile tea before bed. it relaxes you. they also make chamomile body soaks, body washes, and lotions. supposedly, the chamomile relaxes you and makes it easier for you to sleep at night. (they sometimes put it in baby bath products to get babies to relax before bed).

also... i hate to say it but too much time in front of a computer screen can put you in this cracked out mental state that makes it hard to sleep. sink into a book and sip on that tea after a warm bath instead.

hope you get some rest.

wash 3 tylenol pm down with a cold brewskey

chamomile tea and a lavender filled eye mask

exercise and a healthy diet will help some what, but don't exercise late at night because you will get your adrenaline working and then that will not allow you to sleep.

Have a glass of warm milk and honey and unwind with some soothing music.
Take a bath with lavender and rose crystals and ylang ylang oil and close your eyes and take deep breaths.
In the room you sleep in cover everything that gives light out.
Rub some lavender oil in your hair.
Drink a cup of chamomile, peppermint, dandelion or lavender tea (only herb teas) before bed.
Exercise well, don't have a heavy meal at least one hour before you intend to sleep. Cut the carbs at night.
Drink aloe vera juice daily.
Take a multivitamin supplement and have a diet high in Omega 3 fatty oils. Also try and include Gingko BIliba in your diet as this helps you concentrate better during the days so you can rest at night.
Also read 20 minutes to unwind - research has been found that those who read before bed are more likely to have better quality sleep than those who don't.
Take up yoga or tai chi, mediatation and let your inner harmony guide you.
Most of all when you go to sleep lay on your bed for 10 - 20 minutes, if you fall asleep in less than 5 minutes - you are suffering from sleep deprivation.

I agree with "Helpful"s answer, but I would leave out the honey. It does the same thing in your body that sugar does.
Warm milk and turkey both have tryptophan, which helps you sleep. Cut out anything, even during the day, which is a stimulant - coffee, chocolate, tea (except for caffeine free teas) and I wouldn't take gingko biloba since it is a stimulant. Just keep active during the day. Don't do too much excercise near bedtime, and reading helps, computer makes it worse. Make sure you keep a bedtime regiment, because that trains your brain to fall asleep. Good luck!!!!!
