Most excrutiating pain you have ever been through?!

Question: Physical and/or emotional :)

I'm still just 13 so probablt have loads to come but the most physical for me would probably be when i bent one of the two bones in my wrist inwards.
Emotional..well, i'm living it i guess. Watching while my grandad slowley dies :( Oh and also my mums ex boyfriends abusive ways :\

I'd like to hear your stories though! :)

gunshot wounds to the back

broken spinal discs was worst

Getting a shot in the eyelid to numb it prior to minor surgery to excise a chalazion (stye-like problem). Geez, that hurt.

However, it didn't last long, most of the folks answering this had long-standing painful events.

Physical--biopsy of cervix
Emotional--mother, substance abuse

Giving birth -going from 6 to 10 dilation in 20 minutes.

That, and sciatic pain. Ouch!

Funnily enough most painful physically was a bad eye infection. Doesn't sound bad but it was. I have had four children and the pain of having them wasn't anywhere near as bad.
Emotional would be my dad dying.

Hmmm...
was it the root canal gone bad?
or the recurring homorrhoid...
finding out the love of my life was an abuser?
or the phone call that my dad died.
it might have been the annual tonsilitus I got year in and year out - with no meds.

Thank heaven we can't remember pain.

GOUT IS THE WORST PHYSICAL PAIN I'VE HAD.

I have two : the physical pain would be child birth
I experienced emotional pain during the death of my mom, watching her slowly fade away was very painful and still is a year later

Slow numbing pain is the worst. I guess it changes you and you don't even realize it. Try to keep self-regulating your thoughts otherwise you will be down for the count without even realizing it.

Well I am 14 and have been living with headaches since the end of June. I feel your pain though my father abuses me every night. I feel like dying the pain is so bad. My mother just left us because she could not deal with the abuse anymore and my brother and I have to stay here alone. I know things will get better soon though.

Having my tonsils out at 24 years old. They were infected at the time and 1 lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks from not wanting to eat. I have never had any other pain like that.

Gotta be childbirth but at least you know it is gonna end sooner or later and you forget how bad it was when you hold your baby!! Well worth it. Toothache and earache close 2nd and 3rd!!
Emotional... When my mum passed away.. I was 15 and she was 47 :(

The worst emotional pain was watching my mother have both legs amputated then dying two years later. Never get over it.

Worst physical was when one of my horses fell on me and smashed my right upper arm and shoulder to smithereens. There was no-one close by to help me and my left arm is useless because of polio. Had to hobble back to stable yard for help. My horse, bless his heart, kept pace beside me and whinnied to me gently. It was as though he was saying 'it's OK mum, I'm here".

Just seen XoHotties' answer. sweetheart, PLEASE speak to an adult you can trust, a teacher, a policeman or a social worker. You don't have to live like that baby girl, PLEASE speak up and get help.

Well then,
Physical: The time when i broke my ankle. The broken ankle didn't hurt as bad as putting it in ice for 30 minutes did.

Emotional: Knowing that someone loves you, you love them, and you both are right for each other because you make each other happy and time stops when you are together, but instead she feels obligated to be with you and she still wants you but is confused whether or not she wants to stay so keeps you waiting and waiting. Which in the end makes the term "Nice Guys Finish Last" absolutely 100% true.

i had eye surgery they had to do something with the muscles and stitch it up it hurt for a month and i couldnt open them for about a week

Physical: Getting a softball thrown into my nose. I had to get put on morphine and then get it operated on cuz I couldn't breath.
Emotional: I saw my camp friend die.

yes,

A corneal debridement. I never want to feel that again. It was so bad I was throwing up!

Giving birth to two 8 pound boys, but having Gout was worse! I couldn't even walk or move my foot. As for Emotional, a friend of mine in High School jumped in front of a train and died, another friend was struck by lightening and he died, my best friend in Middle School was kidnapped and entered into a cult in Montana. My sister in law had a 3 month old baby who died in the night. Lots of sad stuff. I'm 27 though.

Cluster headaches, although touch wood haven't had one for quite awhile now

breaking my ankle in 2 places and walking on it for 2 days before going to hospital.
emotional was when my daughter was born critically ill but thankfully she fine now

i once had a lung, kidney and something in my side (dont remember what its called), infection all at same time, i just wanted to die it was so painful to even breath and lie down or do anything. i would have given birth every 5 mins rather than go through that. emotional- losing my twin brother at 15, that hurt more than anything ever will.

Hello,
One good thing about the human body is our way to cope with pain.
Shock is our natural way of dealing.
When I had my bone sticking out of my body, which should have been very painful. It was kinda cool looking) I went into shock so the pain was minimal. Had staples put in my skull to close up it, had many broken bones, swelling etc.
I have a fracture now. When I got it it felt like some one put a hot poker on that spot. But really did not hurt that bad after I felt the pain and dealt with it.
If one is lucky (word I use for it) people will go into shock as I do.
Though my migraines hurt. Emotional pain hurts me more then any physical pain will ever touch!! Some one can hit me with little pain, but do not hurt the feelings....
Great question!!

No contest. Severe degenerative disc disease with no relief or cure for years. It's started getting worse and I finally have a bit of relief from narcotics...but it's horrible. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

The epidural spinal injections weren't much fun either...but bearable anyways.
